“When the environment and human health are at risk”

Landscape must be a matrix of natural and human elements interwoven by complex relationships. It’s health is paramount to environmental prosperity that invests into the future with long term sustainable economic benefits for healthy communities.

A New Day in Remediating Damaged Environments is Here

Blue Ring is owned and operated by experienced professionals with over 100 collective years of proven track records in project management, master planning, architecture, natural systems management, geographic information systems (GIS), agricultural science, mining and construction. We consider landscape to be a matrix of natural and human elements interwoven in a complex relationship.  Its health is paramount to environmental prosperity, sustainable economic benefits and healthy communities.

We commit to our clients to establish safe and effectively remediated environments and we have the capacity to engage with key stakeholders to identify and address the issues at hand. Our methodologies are based upon a broad array of scientifically accepted systems and tools, which have been proven over 40 years in restoring landscape. Our effective principals are derived from the rich empirical work of Peter Andrews (OAM), which show rapid and cost-effective results, even in damaged landscapes including mine sites, chemical spills, saline soils and desertification.

We provide complete client-specific solutions broadly using the following methodology:

—comprehensive investigation of the site and damage;
—establishing a site-specific remediation methodology applicable also to the regional context;
—undertaking the remediation work on site including (if appropriate) the establishment of a resilient landscape solution;
—ongoing monitoring of the remediated work to ensure success;
—and finally (if appropriate), we master plan future sustainable uses for the site.

For example, agriculture, regional tourism or ongoing mining or other industry suited to the site.

Methodology is everything. We work to not only fully repatriate damaged landscape but to make it productive. And to do this, we must monitor the health of the environment to establish that we have achieved what we have promised. As a result, our services are typically delivered in three stages:

  1. Site analysis and reporting. Establishment of suitable methodology for repair and reuse.
  2. Remediation process including detoxification, restoration of soil and water table health, establishment of biomass.
  3. Ongoing regular monitoring of soil, water and biomass health until the work is complete.

We have found that the landscape remediation process is not well understood by the community or our clients and as a result, our clients are unaware of the sustainable commercial possibilities where industry and nature are capable of operating beside each other sustainably. To this end, our team is committed to maintaining close communications with our clients and the key stakeholders.

Overlooking the wider complex nature of the overall environmental system has allowed humanity to inadvertently mismanage landscapes in a way that has caused unnecessary and substantial losses in productivity. Our approach to landscape restoration embraces its complexity and uses the significant forces inherent in nature to aid in the remediation process. Recently (over the last 40 years) pioneers in complex landscape function like Mr Peter Andrews, O.A.M. have pointed the way to restoring natural function back into our landscapes so that benefits can be had such as: agricultural yields of 400% the accustomed norm can be achieved, landscapes being more “fire proof”, the landscape actually acting to mitigate floods and significantly and positively impacting on human and animal wellbeing. Peter Andrew’s work has now been applied to over 400 properties in Australia and New Zealand and is well applied in China and now more recently with great success on the Colorado River Ranch in the US. The case for implementing this science is self-evident when viewed on Peter Andrews’ achievements alone. It is this science that we apply to most sites with remarkable results.
